Getting to know our broker: Kristen Shedor

Managing Broker Kristen Shedor brings her years of experience in the service industry and the real estate industry together and helps run an amazing brokerage at Realtopia. 

Kristen is the other half of the women-owned team that runs this brokerage. 

Kristen got her real estate license in 2013 and started working part time as an agent, but it wasn’t long until she started being a full time agent. She joined Ashley York as a full time agent in 2014.

In 2017, Ashley York, the designated managing broker, teamed up with Kristen to open Realtopia. 

“Working with Kristen since she was first licensed as an agent and now as a business partner has been a fun ride,” Ashley said. “We make a great team and it’s been exciting watching our vision come to life with the brokerage growth.”

Kristen gives her all to this industry and she has done so since the very beginning.

“It didn’t feel like a job,” Kristen said. “It was fun.”

Kristen said working with Ashley helped her learn quicker than she would’ve otherwise. 

Kristen and Ashley knew they wanted to create a different type of company for real estate agents, thus came Realtopia. 

Kristen said they wanted to implement a new approach to real estate, offering agents top-notch technology and training daily. 

Kristen had a very easy transition into real estate, because of Ashley, and also because of her background. She had worked in the service industry for years and she was able to use that training to adapt quickly to all the different personalities she encounters daily. 

“Everyday is different,” she said. “I get to help people with the biggest decision of their lives.” 

She said it is a really fulfilling job to help people, clients and agents. 

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the brokerage, and those who run it, had to adapt quickly as well. 

Kristen said Realtopia was already prepared with some of the services previously offered to agents. 

Realtopia was entirely paperless, which was one of the many ideas they implemented from the start. This means they did not have to worry about spreading anything through paper transfer. 

This technology was in place helping agents operate from any location, meaning they could adapt quickly, Kristen said. 

Kristen is always there for the agents of Realtopia. She is never more than a phone call away from the agents and is always in their corner.

“Kristen is inspiring to work with in how she handles all of the ups and downs of real estate like a champ,” Office Manager Paula Wojcik said. 

Kristen has big plans as an agent and as a managing broker - she was a multimillion dollar producer herself in 2021 and she continues to work in the industry every day, through her own listings and through her helping hand with the agents and Realtopia.
