How to market real estate on social media
Marketing yourself on any platform is stressful. However, it can often be harder on social media. It takes a certain level of confidence to put yourself out there on social media because it is for the whole world to see. However, I am here to tell you how to make it a little easier.
Brand yourself.
The first step is to find a brand or style that fits you. One easy way to do this is to brand your content to fit the colors of your brokerage. If you want a more personalized look, choose an accent color to go with. Then you have a starting point for graphics and designs. Then, I would find a font style you like. Do you like the crisp, modern fonts, or more relaxed and flowy cursive fonts? Find what feels more like you and use that to add to your branding. Lastly, I would consider creating your own logo. You don’t need to pay for it or have anyone make it for you. Use the colors and the fonts you picked out and design something simple in Canva. Then you can add that to all your graphics.
Focus on one platform first.
When you are first starting out on social media, it can be hard to juggle several platforms at once, stick to one platform at first and really gain your momentum that way. Once you get a handle on that platform, then you can use another and oftentimes you can post the same content. For example, you can post the same posts on Instagram and Facebook. The trick is to schedule them 45 mins apart and add hashtags to instagram so the algorithm will recognize and organically boost the content.
Follow the 80/20 rule.
The 80/20 rule means that 80% of your content should NOT be real estate related and the other 20% should be. This sounds crazy but it’s true. If you post about more than just real estate, people are more likely to follow you because you are showing them you are more than just an agent.
Let your audience get to know you.
The best way to get audience engagement is to share with them who you are. As you share, you will find that people start interacting with you and your content because they can relate. People feed off connections and be able to relate to others. If they feel as though they can learn who you are through posts about your pets or hobbies, they will start to engage with you; and engagement is key to a growing audience.
Post consistently.
This is SUPER important because you want to show people that you are there and you are not going anywhere. You always want to show people that you will always be there for them. Whether that be in a transaction or over social media, by remaining consistent you are able to show your audience how reliable and stable you are.
If you are unfamiliar with the scope of social media, this is a great place to start. There are more and more things that can bog down your mind about social media, however, these are the basics. It is a great place to start and where you should grow from. Now good luck! Tackle this next marketing platform with confidence!
