What is cross-promotion and how it can help header image.

When it comes to promoting yourself and your content on social media, it is easy to fall into a pattern of paying for promotions, as it is quick and easily gets you views. However, it can be pricey. Consider this instead - cross promotion. 

Cross promotion is the use of one service or products to promote another. In terms of cross promoting on social media, this is using one social platform to promote content created or posted to another. This could also be promoting that you can be found on a different social media platform. 

Another form of this is partnering with a brand or company that you promote, but in doing so,  you also get your name out there. The cost of this type of promotion can be higher, as opposed to the aforementioned free option, but it can pay off big in the end.

For instance, if you partner with a food business and give out a coupon, you will have to pay for some sort of mailing or shipping on said coupon, but you may get way more business from the area, thus returning on that investment. 

Back to the free market promotions, it takes a very short amount of time to share on one social media and then share the same content on another platform, therefore, there really is no excuse not to be cross promoting. The goal is to get your name out there as much as possible.

This is also not as daunting of a task as it might seem. Sure there will be a few more platforms to manage, but you will be recycling the same content so it is not as stressful as it may seem.

You can also see the return on your “investment” rather quickly. The goal is to boost one social, so hopefully as you cross promote, you will also see followers or likes start to increase.

There is also a way to cross promote on the same platform. While this might seem odd, the use of stories to promote content that is found on your feed is super beneficial to you.  This helps to reach more people who may not see your content in their feed, but they will see it at the top of their page if you share it as a story. 

All of these things are trying to get you as much promo as possible, without having to break the bank.
